NDSS vows commitment To Sports Competition
The management of the Niger Delta Science School( NDSS) Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic Port Harcourt has vowed to sustain it’s annual interhouse sports and Athletic competition.
The School Director Dr Emmanuel Egbuchiem said this last weekend, while declaring open the 25th edition of the school annual interhouse sports and Athletic competition.
He said the school which was is creating opportunities to enable students showcase their sporting talent.
Egbuchiem said the school which was formerly Ompadec science school has excelled in every areas of human endeavours, adding that both in the field of academics and sports the school has been rank high.
According to the Director, the school is also rated high in external examinations such as Waec  Neco and Jamb, stressing that the sports was to ensure an all round personalities to conquer territories.
Speaking in an interview later on,he expressed satisfaction with the performances of all the houses and students, describing it as fantastic and  excellent.
Also speaking chairman of the occasion, Chief Keeper D. Gbarane thanked the school management for living up to the expectations of the society.
He said the competition will provide opportunity for students who are not bookworm to develop talent that will enable them to be useful to the society.
The chairman stressed the need for the school not to relent and assured them of his support.
Speaking with newsmen the director of sports of  Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Daye Barango said the competition met the expectations of management of the school.
He however stressed the need for the Rivers state Ministry of Sports to always send its officials out to scout for talent during interhouse sports event.
Barango said this would enable the government to discover and pick out those that will make the state proud in future.
At the end the competition, Green House emerged the overall winner, followed by Blue house and Red house respectively.
