Former Caretaker Committee Chairman of Okrika Local Government Council, Hon Princess Ibieneye Ogan, has expressed gratitude to the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara for remodelling Okrika Grammar School (OGS).
Hon Ogan, the first female chairman of the local government, said the Governor deserves celebration for his genuine passion in the development of the State.
The Coordinator of Wakirike Women In Politics said the Governor has demonstrated his capacity to govern with the fear of God as well as providing world class infrastructure for the people of the State.
She vowed that Okrika Women In Politics will continue to show natural support to the God-sent Governor and pray for more dividends of democracy.
Hon Ogan revealed that Okrika Women In Politics was formed to naturally mobilise outright support for Governor Fubara and pray every week for his success.
She said for the first time, an Ijaw son has become the Governor of the State, stressing that the Okrika people who are Ijaw will stand by him, saying Okrika mothers under the aegis of Wakirike Women In Politics are resolute in praying and supporting their son to succeed in piloting the affairs of the State amid political upheavals.
“ We want to encourage our dear Governor to remain focused and committed in governing Rivers State as the people are solidly behind him. Okrika women under the aegis of Wakirike Women in Politics always gather every week to pray for him. We are resolute in supporting him,” she said.
According to her, in her few months in office, lives were touched in a positive way. Issues that had to do with the people were attended, as she served diligently as well as complementing Governor Fubara in human capital development, empowerment of the people and provision of electricity which made the poeple to nickname her ‘Mama full current light’.
Hon Ogan noted that if not for Governor Fubara, there is no way on earth she would have become the council chairman, and expressed joy for serving her people, an opportunity she said she used to better their lot.
“I am overwhelmed we built the people, and communed with them. My happiness is that Okrika people can attest that we were for them. What is life if we can’t carry everybody along? A good politician will always bring the people together. .We were careful about this. I feel emotional each time I see my people appreciate that singular act,” she said.
