A dancing organization known as United Dance Organisation (UDO) is set to storm  Port Harcourt with a platform and competition to allow youths in the state who have skills for dancing to explore and showcase their talents in the forth-coming dancing competition slated to hold in the fourth week of March, 2025, in the Garden City of Port Harcourt.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Dance Nigeria Ltd, Sir, Andy Azuka Ayo, made this known while speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt  recently.
According to the M.D, Dance Nigeria Limited is an indigenous Company with Nigerians as Executive Directors with International affiliation and global out-look, and with the objective to expose Nigerians, especially potential winners of the competition, to global dancing space for them to excel and earn good money for themselves.
“Honestly, the company is planning to organize the biggest dancing competitions across the Sub-Sahara Africa for youths, with the aim to encourage the youths to develop their  talents in dancing.
“Nigeria has good music already, but we equally need good dancing steps to embellish the music”, he said.
He noted that any youthful good dancer, not elderly persons, are eligible to apply and eventually participate as contestants.
Ayo disclosed that as a way of incentives, the winner at the zonal level will go home with the sum of N1,000,000,  while N5,000,000 is slated as star prize for the winner of the grand finale in Abuja.
Speaking at the occasion, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Culture and tourism, Barr. Tukuma Ishmael, said the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, “is very much interested in any project that would promote the interest of the youths to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state as a ploy to pull them away from cultism and other societal vices”.
Ishmael, however, noted that at the appropriate time, his ministry would assist the UDO to achieve its goal in Rivers State.
In his speech, the Director in the Ministry, Mr. Ken Turbo, expressed happiness that UDO decided to use Rivers State to show-case its first edition in Dancing Competition in the South-South Geo-Political Zone of Nigeria.
“Rivers State Cultural troupe did well in the last National Cultural Competition in Abuja”, he recalled
Among those who graced the occasion, were the Executive Director for Finance, Chief Ejie Olongwe, and Mr. Ege, the Director for Creative Arts.
