The people of Anyamboko Community in Andoni Local Government Area are blaming the high rate of maternal and infant mortalities in the area on the lack of health facilities.
A cross session of the people who spoke to The Tide in an interview said the community needs urgent intervention from both the Local and State Governments to check the situation.
They specifically called on the government to site a health centre in the area and a school for the teeming population of the community.
Speaking in an interview, The Okan Ama/Paramount Ruler of Anyamboko Community, HRH, King Awajigbanam JJ Biariko, called on the government to come to their aide, saying the community is loosing more women and children due to the absence of a health facility.
He said the community needs a health facility that can cater for the health needs of both the women and children, adding that some pregnant women have lost their lives due to the absence of health facilities in the area.
King Biariko also expressed regret that Anyamboko, which is one of the ancient communities in Andoni, has been neglected in the siting of government amenities.
He particularly said the community has no educational institution, noting that children from the area are passing through difficulties in accessing educational institution from neighbouring communities.
Meanwhile, the Royal Father has sued for peace in the area.
King Biariko, who spoke with the Tide at his palace at Anyamboko Town, said his palace has initiated a  process of reconciling all waring factions in the community.
He also called on the youths to toe the path of peace, adding that as a traditional ruler he must work with the State Government to promote peace, not only in his domain, but also across the state.
He used the opportunity to call for the recognition of the Anyamboko Chieftaincy stool considering that it is one of the earliest stools in Andoni.
He also denied that the community was harbouring cultists.
