The President of the Volleyball Federation of Nigeria, Engr. Nimrod Musa, has emphasised the crucial role sports plays in driving development in the country.
According to him, sports is a powerful catalyst that propels all-round development, providing economic security for athletes, their families, and the community at large.
“The reconstructed stadium is expected to not only help athletes develop their skills but also generate significant revenue for the state,” he said.
This statement was made during an interview with sports journalists at the closing ceremony of the maiden edition of Beach Volleyball Xmas Bang in Yola. Engr. Nimrod, who also serves as the President of Confederation Africa Beach Volleyball, commended Governor Ahamadu Umar Finitri for reconstructing the long-abandoned stadium along Numan road in the state capital, praising the quality of work done so far.
The reconstructed stadium is expected to not only help athletes develop their skills but also generate significant revenue for the state. Engr. Nimrod lauded the Adamawa Handball and Adamawa Volleyball teams on their promotions to play in the Zenith Bank premiership and Nigeria Customs Volleyball division one premiership competitions.
He noted that with good training facilities and encouragement from the government, corporate organisations, and individuals, athletes from Adamawa state and Nigeria will be more likely to identify with their home teams.
