Monarch Assures Government, Residents Of Continuous Peace In Woji
The paramount ruler of Woji community in Obio /Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers state, HRH Eze Emeka Ihunwo, has assured the government and residents of the community of continuous peace in Woji community.
Eze Ihunwo, who said this at the 2025 annual thanksgiving service of the community also prayed for the peace being enjoyed by the community to be extended across the state.
The Woji Monarch also assured the people of quality leadership this year.
He said, God has used him and members of the council of Chiefs as instruments to achieve peace and development in Woji, adding that the annual thanksgiving service was to thank God for his grace and benevolence in Woji community.
According to Eze Ihunwo, God is the pilot and the architect of peace in Woji. “We are just instruments in his hands
“He is only using us to his grace and glory,” he said.
He also said the annual thanksgiving service was part of the covenant the community made with God.
According to him, God has been so faithful to Woji, stressing that, a community without God is a lost community
He said under his reign, Woji will never be associated with some of those communities that are prone to violence
“So, we are thankful to God each time we keep a covenant we have made in his name: we tell him thank you,” he said.
The monarch also used the occasion to pray for the peace in the state, stressing that the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara must be supported by prayers to enable it continue with its good work.
Meanwhile, the Archdeacon in charge of St. Nicholas Anglican Church, Woji, Archdeacon Charles Obi has praised the traditional leadership of Woji community for the peace of the community.
Archdeacon Obi, who stated this during the thanksgiving service, said in Woji, everybody including strangers sleep with their two eyes closed
He said this would not have been possible without the able leadership of Eze Emeka Ihunwo and his council of Chiefs.
The cleric, who urged other communities to emulate the good example of Eze Emeka Ihunwo also praised the Woji Monarch for sustaining the thanksgiving service which started ten years ago.
