APC Ahoada East Lauds LG Elections, Supporters

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State has commended the just concluded local government elections, as it urges its supporters to remain peaceful and calm.
Rising from a meeting yesterday, the party chieftains in a communique signed by the local government Deputy Chairperson, Christine Douglas alongside the councillorship candidates for Ward 7, Silas Abadi; that of Ward 10, Jefferson Bob; Naphtali Jonah of Ward 8; and Ward 5 councillorship candidates, Confidence Oputa; Ward 9 councillorship candidate, Daniel Hope; and Joshua Innocent of Ward 6, expressed elation on the smooth conduct of the elections.
They thanked their supporters for their peaceful conduct and their prayers during the local government polls, and expressed joy that no violence or confrontation was recorded.
According to them, “our candidates were most credible, and we showed capacity and zeal to emerge victorious.”
Though their party lost, the APC chieftains said they fought gallantly as their campaigns made impact, especially in Constituency II in Ahoada East.
“We are impressed that our candidates were greeted with acceptance and this gave us the impetus to push to the end,” they said.
The APC candidates commended the state governor for insisting that the local government elections must hold, explaining that the grassroots was in dire need of leadership and development.
They also gave kudos to the Chief of Staff, Government House, Rt Hon Edison Ehie; Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ovy Chukwuma; and other illustrious sons and daughters of Ahoada Constituency II in ensuring that the polls were conducted peacefully without hitches.
