A Dubai-based Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain, Prof Chris Enyindah has declared that 90 percent of his Ikwerre kinsmen are supporting Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Prof. Enyindah in an interview with journalists revealed that Rivers State does not belong to Ikwerres alone.
The erudite scholar said change is constant and having ruled for 16 years, it is expected that power shifts to another tribe.
He noted that with the massive support Ikwerre people are giving Governor Fubara, no doubt, he will complete eight years in office.
The Professor explained further that there was a time the Ikwerres were crying over marginalisation during the time Chief Melford Okilo was in charge of affairs.
He said it is normal that power should shift to another tribe, the Ikwerres having ruled the State for 16 years.
“Don’t do to others what you won’t want them do unto you. Governor Fubara needs to be left alone, to enable him serve the people. Ikwerre people should therefore allow him to rule, to enable him do his job well without interferance from any individual. We must support him, not by fighting, but by negotiation, by collaboration, not by competition, by connection, not by fragmentation, by asking questions, and not by disobeying. Governor Fubara does not believe in enmity. He is a democratic and participating leader. Such qualities mean a lot as a leader. His temperament conforms with what I believe. Natural leaders like him put the people first as his mantra portray. Rivers State does not belong to one man. The earlier some persons know this, the better for them. His outstanding performance in trying to reshape Rivers State from what it used to be in the past, to presently what we are seeing now deserves applause. His sober temperament is the type Rivers people need, putting the citizenry first in in his developmental agenda. He is delivering in all sectors, especially in the educational sector. We have seen teachers receive their promotions and new ones are employed. Governor Fubara takes into cognisance that education is the foundation. We are glad he is keying into it. He is re- vamping the educational sector which other sectors derive their strength from. He is in tandem with the current 21 century, moving from traditional way of doing things to what we are seeing today, looking beyond the present day system where entreprenuership will be key as it is done overseas. He is ensuring that our children are given solid education to enable them excel”, he said.
