One Rivers Coalition (ORC), a socio-political group in Asari-Toru Local Government Area, has endorsed the present caretaker chairman of the council, Hon. Orolosama Amachree for the forthcoming local government election.
The group said its endorsement of Hon. Amachree follows the success his administration has achieved so far, especially in the empowerment of over 80 indigenes of the area.
Chairman, Ward Coordinator’s Forum of the ORC, Hon Gentle Wokoma, also appealed to Governor Siminalayi Fubara to avail the people the opportunity to have Hon Amachree contest in the forthcoming election.
Hon. Wokoma thanked the Governor for the choice of Hon Amachree as the caretaker committee chairman and pleaded with him to give him another opportunity to contest in the forthcoming election.
“Buguma people are saying that they will demonstrate if Orolosama Peter Amachree doesn’t want to contest for the election because we have been yearning for a leader that has the people at heart
“So we use this opportunity appealing to Governor Fubara, who has made us proud, to come to our aide”, he said.
Hon. Wokoma, who is the Ward 7 coordinator of the organization, said that the CTC chairman is following in the footsteps of his father, the Governor, who has refused to be distracted.
“The CTC chairman is one man that has a different understanding about life, he always tells us that he wants to empower people so that they can empower others around them.
“If such a man is given an opportunity to serve as elected chairman, he will perform excellently well and that is why we are calling on him to declare his intentions to contest without any form of delay because he has proven himself beyond any reasonable doubt”, he said.
Also speaking members of the planning committee, Barrister Tomi Tracy, Prince Dateme and Ibiere L Braide described the CTC chairman’s empowerment scheme as one of the best in the area.
