Teqball World Championship Ends In Abia
The 2024 Teqball World Championship qualifiers will round off Saturday in Aba, Abia state as the state expressed commitment to developing the game.
This qualifier tournament which has 16 states participating, serves as a vital stepping stone for Nigerian Teqball players aiming to compete at the Teqball World Championships later this year.
The competition which hosts singles and doubles fixtures simultaneously and aims to provide Nigeria with representatives in both categories at the world tournament ends on Saturday
Speaking at the opening ceremony held at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Nwaobilor Ananaba said that Abia is hosting the game in line with the resolve of the Governor Alex Otti-led administration to develop all types of sports in the state and making the state sports destination.
Ananaba, who said that Teqball is relatively new in Abia maintained that the state government has taken decision to develop it, assuring that it is going to be a regular activity going forward.
