Indications have again emerged that the administration of the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, is in good standing with the people of Ahoada-West Local Government Area following declaration of the people in support ot the government.
They include the pro-Fubara members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and opposition party members in the Local Government who, during the week, closed ranks for the galvanization of massive support for the Governor amidst the political crisis in the state.
The Tide, which monitored sensitization rallies held in the 12 wards of the Local Government by the “Simplified Movement”, reports that the rallies went smoothly.
Those present at the event, The Tide gathered, include former loyalists of the immediate past Governor of the State and current Minister of the FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike, and defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Pro-Fubara controlled “Simplified Movement”.
The three weeks Ward-to-Ward tour, which had earlier begun in the Ekpeye speaking Wards of the LGA, climaxed in the Engenni speaking wards with a grand finale at Akinima, headquarters of the Local Government Area on Sunday, 28th, July, 2024 with the State Governor, represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House, Port Harcourt, Dr. Edison Ehie, in attendance.
Also in attendance were the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo, several local government Caretaker Committee Chairmen, former executive chairmen of the LGA, ex-Commissioners and more.
The Tide further learnt that in the Engenni Kingdom, the sensitization tour  commenced in Okarki, Ward four,  home town of former APC Deputy-Governorship candidate, Hon. Honour Asita, and political ward of former Commissioner for Employment in the state, Hon. Ezekiel Agri, with defectors trouping  en mass to pledge loyalty to state Governor.
It was the same in the cosmopolitan town of Mbiama, Ward two, home town of a business mogul and coordinator of  the Simplified Movement for the ward, Hon. Inime Wilson Karibo, where both members of opposition parties, chiefs, non-indigenes and others continued to identify with the Simplified Movement, pledging their loyalty and support to the governor of the state.
In Joinkrama (Better land), Ward three, the rally again turned out to be a success. Leader of the State Assembly, Hon. Sokari Goodboy Sokari, stated that the essence of the rally was not to campaign for the governor, but to give their stewardship to the electorates.
Highpoint of the event was the formal reception of former Executive Chairman of the Local Government Area, Barr. Miller Awori, and other defectors back to the PDP and the Simplified Movement respectively.
