A political analyst in Rivers State, Mr Minikwu Macdonald, has hailed Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s decision to set up a judicial commission of inquiry to probe the activities of government preceding his administration in the state.
Mr Macdonald who spoke in an exclusive interview with The Tide in Port Harcourt described the governor’s decision as a welcome development.
He said the proposed probe will enable Rivers people and Nigerians know what transpired during the administration of former Governor Nyesom Wike.
According to him, Rivers people need to know how much came into the state and how it was spent, saying that he saw the probe coming.
“I told people before now that this thing will happen and we are seeing it today”, he said, while describing Governor Fubara as God-sent to liberate Rivers State.
“God has liberated Rivers State and every reasonable person from Rivers State should follow Sim to make sure that the governor succeeds”, he added.
Mr Macdonald said there was no need for former Governor Wike not to apologise to Rivers people but should rather beg God for forgiveness for claiming to be all-knowing and all-powerful while in office.
“He should tell God that he is sorry for what has happened in Rivers State and until he does that, he will know no peace”, he said.
The analyst commended Governor Fubara for giving attention to the welfare of Rivers people including civil servants and also commended him for the infrastructural development across the state.
