Nigeria ex-international, Emmanuel Amunike has appealed to club owners and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to create platforms for local coaches in the  country to prove themselves.
According to him, if chances were not given to local coaches to showcase their talents, Nigerians would not know that there are good coaches.
“I want to say for instance after learnig and the teacher didn’t test you through  examination, how will the teacher know that you understood what he taught you or you are good?” he Amunike said.
The former U-17 national coach made the appeal in a chat with sports journalists during the CAF Confideration Cup game between Rivers United FC and USM Algiers of Algeria at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo recently.
“ I think it is necessary  to encourage our local coaches, truly for the present coaches and next generation coaches coming  behind us, they must have that belief that they can  to do the right things and save our father land in their own capacity,” he said.
He explained that national teams coaching jobs should be given to whoever is qualified but should be given free hands and equally treat them like the foreign coaches.
