Wife of the Rivers State Governor, Lady Valerie Fubara, has eulogised Rivers women for their resilience and immeasurable contributions to the society.
Lady Fubara, in a message to mark the 2024 International Women’s Day, last Friday, said, “On this special occasion of the 2024 International Women’s Day, I join the rest of the world to celebrate our esteemed women for their exceptional qualities and contributions to the well-being of our society”.
This was contained in a statement by the First Lady’s Deputy Media Assistant, Bridget Jumbo.
She noted that the theme of this year’s celebration represents the true essence of the push for gender equality which is hinged on inspiring inclusion, as well as the captivating slogan “Investing in Women, Accelerate Progress”.
Lady Fubara emphasised that, without doubt, women have always been the epitome of strength and resilience which are valuable characteristics that accelerate progress in society.
She, therefore, called on women to always be resolute in what they do to impact the society positively, and to be bright lights that shine on everyone on all fronts and in all of life’s endeavours.
She also reiterated her support for her husband’s endeavours in enhancing the quality of life for women and affirming family values in Rivers State.
