RSG Urges Youths To Build Strong Progressive Relationship With Govt
Rivers State Commissioner for Youth Development, Dr Chisom Kenneth Gbali, has charged the leadership of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Akuku-Toru Chapter, to ensure that they work closely with the State Government in order to build a strong progressive and effective unit in the State.
Dr Gbali gave the charge when the President and executive members of NYCN, Akuku-Toru Chapter, Led by Comrade Jephter Iyalla Williams, paid him a courtesy visit in his office, recently.
The Commissioner explained that the visit was apt and disclosed that the State Ministry of Youth Development is working with the Executive Governor of the State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, to change the negative narrative of the state.
He said the Ministry has chronicled programmes and activities on how to accommodate and empower Rivers Youths to enable them become self reliant to compete favourably like their oeers across the globe.
He stated that the visit by NYCN, Akuku-Toru Chapter to the Ministry has unveiled a falsehood held in the state that Akuku-Toru Local Government Council is not in support of the present administration led by Gôvernor Fubara.
The Commissioner noted that any responsive and responsible progressive minded youth in the state now, should be able to identify where he belongs, unless he is comfortable with being in the docdrum or confined, not being allowed to scout and venture into personal endowment.
“The world is a spectrum and we all have that space to go for our destiny, because it is not in any bodies hand to decide who and where you are supposed to be placed, hence the world is an endless video that whatever you want, you can achieve.
“The limit of our realization of tomorrow is in our doubt of today, and nobody should stop us or limit us from what we want to be. The administration of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, is opening the spectrum that whatever we want, we can achieve”, he stated.
Gbali used the opportunity to congratulated the President of NYCN, Akuku-Toru Chapter, Comrade Williams, for being the first to commend and congratulate a mother, Mrs . Kejeh Chinedu, who has mentored and served Rivers youths for more than 30 years.
He noted that due to her commitment to human development, she is the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth Development, “and being in the same wave length to rewrite the narrative, God Almighty will help us to take the affairs of Rivers youths to the next level”.
The Commissioner, therefore, advised the Chapter NYCN President, to organize the youths of Akuku-Toru Local Government to enable the Ministry sensitize and educate them on the development mantra of His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara in the state.
Earlier, Comrade Williams commended the Commissioner for the audience granted them despite his busy schedule.
Williams stated that after due consultation in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, they deemed it necessary to pay the Honourable Commissioner a courtesy visit, and the Ministry for standing by the administration of Sir Siminalayi Fubara, saying it was remarkable and examplary to the youths in Rivers State and the nation at large to always stand for justice.
The President, who disclosed that the visit was to intimate the Commissioner on how they, as NYCN, have been denied their previledges and opportunities by the local Government Chairman for political reasons.
Highlights of the visit was the presentation of Commendation letter letter to the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Ruhuoma Kejeh Chinedu, by the NYCN Chapter President.
