Info Comm Commends Friends-Of-Fuby For Support To RSG
The Rivers State Government has commended the Convener and members of “Friends-of-Fuby” for their unrelenting support for the administration of the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara.
Making the commendation at a gathering put together by the support group to celebrate the Governor’s resounding victory at the Supreme Court, the Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon Joseph Johnson, said he had been a keen follower of the activities of Friends-of-Fuby right from the period of electioneering.
He described the group as a hub of intellectuals that the Governor can fish from in his drive to reposition the state for greater accomplishments.
Johnson admonished Friends-of-Fuby not to be discouraged by the unnecessary political actions and activities of those who do not mean well for Rivers State.
He assured the group of the Governor’s determination not to be distracted by such gimmicks.
Describing the Governor as someone not given to perfidious grandstanding, the Commissioner said Governor Fubara was “not very loud, but very strong and focused in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Rivers State”.
While assuring that the Governor has high respect for the group, Johnson reiterated his personal resolve to identify with Friends-of-Fuby by assisting in whichever little way possible.
Speaking earlier, the Convener of Friends-of-Fuby, Senibo Chamberlain S. Peterside, described Sir Siminalayi Fubara, as a thorough bred technocrat that had worked and interacted with most members of the group on divers planks, hence they are conversant with the person of the Governor.
The relationship, according to him, gave rise to the name of the group, “Friends-of-Fuby”.
The convener expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for identifying with them
While presenting a copy of the group’s compendium of activities from inception, titled “Our Journey”, to Johnson, Chamberlain Peterside said Friends-of-Fuby had robust engagements with the grassroots during the electioneering campaigns with the SIM-CARES message.
In their separate remarks, Amaopusenibo Igoni William Park and Senibo Don Cookey, reiterated the commitment of the group in support for the Governor.
Cookey also thanked the Commissioner for attending the Supreme Court case victory gathering, which coincided with the Super Eagles victory over Bafana-Bafana of South Africa.
