Pirates Kidnap Ship’s Crew In GoG

A renowned global security firm, Dryad Global, says the crew of a tanker ship has been kidnapped off the Southern coast of Cameroon in the Gulf of Guinea (GoG),
The Master and Chief Engineer of the ship were reportedly abducted by pirates in the region on New Year’s Day.
Details of the boarding of the 13,000 dwt Hana I tanker, which is registered with Tuvalu, are limited, though security firm Dryad Global said the vessel was boarded around 45 nautical miles due south of the island of Bioko.
The vessel is owned by a Singapore Headquartered agribusiness group which also operates a fleet of dry and liquid bulk ships.
The Dryad Global firm is yet to state the whereabouts of the crew members and their current health status as at the time of this report.
