New Ogbakor Ikwerre President General Preaches Peace, Progress, Unity

The newly elected President General of the Ogbakor Ikwerre Worldwide, Eze(Barrister) Godspower Onuekwa, has wholeheartedly accepted his recent election and subsequent swearing-in, as the helmsman of the body, with a charge to Ikwerre people all over the world, irrespective of where they find themselves to embrace peace and work for the unity, progress and development of the Ikwerre ethnic nationality.
Eze Onuekwa, who gave the charge while speaking with newsmen on the heels of the hosting of a successful new year party for members of the organisation and the honouring of Professor Emeritus Otonti Nduka, Ochi Ohna Ikwerre the X1 held at Obiri Ikwerre Secretariat in Port Harcourt, said there is the need for all Ikwerre people to unite and speak with one voice at all times.
He noted that there is the likelihood of the people to wrong and offend one another as human beings, adding that the most important thing is for them to muster the courage to forgive one another.
According to him, this is the time for all Ikwerre people to forgive one another over past offences and forge ahead.
Describing Ikwerre ethnic nationality as the largest ethnic group in Rivers State, the legal luminary and chartered insurer, who holds a Doctorate Degree in Law, promised to use his current position to unite the people and work for the development of the State and the country as well as reach out to Ikwerre people both at home and in the diaspora.
Eze Onuekwa said he is elated and excited with the position of the President General of Ogbakor Ikwerre Worldwide, as it has availed him of the opportunity of relating and interacting with all Ikwerres all over the world.
He said the Ikwerre people, irrespective of the communities they come from are one people, and urged them to love one another.
The party, which took place on Friday also featured the formal handover of the baton by the former President General, Prof Emenike Wami to the incumbent.
Other personalities who were involved in the successful organisation of the event are Eze G A O Omodu, Ochi Ohna Ikwerre the X111; Eze Sampson Agbaru, Ochi Ohna Ikwerre X11; Prof Augustine Onyeozo; and former President General of the body, Professor Emeritus Simeon Achinewhu.
