NACETEM To Host Certiport International Certification Exams
The National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM) says it has been authorised to become a testing centre for Certiport’s Certifications.
The Head, Communications Team, NACETEM, Dr Tunde Babalola, revealed this in a chat with newmen in Lagos, recently.
Babalola said the certificate authorising NACETEM to become a Testing Centre in Nigeria was delivered to the agency’s management last Thursday.
According to him, the certificate was signed by Robert Whelan, the President/CEO of Pearson VUE (the organisation behind certiport).
The Tide’s source reports that Certiport, a Pearson VUE business, was established in 1997 and is now the leading provider of certification exam development, delivery, and programme management services.
Certiport exams are delivered through an expansive network of over 15,000 Authorized Testing Centres worldwide.
‘’This is, hopefully, the beginning of a new dawn for NACETEM. Many private organisations are demanding recognised Information Technology certifications from their workers, and digital literacy is now recognised as a promotion requirement for public sector employees”, he said.
He continued that it was time for NACETEM to work with the opportunity given in delivering mass digital literacy to teeming Nigerians.
Babalola also noted that NACETEM is the second organisation after the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) to be given the right by Pearson VUE but with different levels of certification.
