Monarch Sues For Peace, Unity In Rivers
Following the political crisis in Rivers State between the incumbent Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike, the Paramount Ruler of Abuloma Kingdom, King Bright Ateke Fibionumama, has called on all political actors and stakeholders to embrace peace and unity in the State.
The monarch also called on the youths to give maximum support to the Governor Fubara-led administration, and urged the youths to shun all forms of violence and embrace peace in the State.
The traditional ruler stated this when the leadership of the Movement for the Survival of Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND), a mass mobilisation organisation in the region, led by its National President, Dr. Kennedy Tonjo West, paid a courtesy visit to the monarch at his palace in Abuloma.
He urged all the key players in the State’s politics to embrace peace and tranquility to move the State forward rather than destabilising its unity.
Speaking at the event, Dr. West, who led the executives and members of the Eastern zone of the organisation on the visit, appealed to all aggrieved actors and stakeholders to embrace peace and unity for development to thrive.
He said the reason for the visit was to familiarise with the King and elders of Abuloma to enhance peaceful coexistence irrespective of their political affiliation and ethnicity.
While condemning the political crisis in the State, MOSIEND said it would rally support for the Governor Fubara-led administration in the State.
The President General however said those who are not comfortable with the Fubara-led administration should have a rethink for peace to reign in the State.
