Group Honours Monarch Over Humanitarian Services
The Coalition of Supporters of Good Governance and Democracy has presented an Excellence Award to the Paramount Ruler of Bua Nama Kingdom in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mene Nwikogbara Bornee Prince over his proficiency in doing good and inclination to rendering humanitarian services selflessly to mankind and the society.
Presenting the award to the traditional ruler recently during a brief ceremony in Bua Nama Kingdom, the group opined that the King had distinguished himself through his good deeds and philanthropic gestures which have impacted positively on the society and geared towards improving the living conditions of the poor.
The Secretary of the coalition, Mr Ken Itari, who presented the award to the monarch on behalf of the leader, Comrade Bob Achor noted that the recipient was fished out for the honour through a rigorous and painstaking screening and diligent observation by members of the group who found him worthy and deserving of the honour.
According to him, it is believed that the award would motivate the King to do more for his people and the rest of mankind, especially the poor.
In his response, the Paramount Ruler of Bua Nama Kingdom, Mene Nwikogbara Bornee Prince thanked the coalition for finding him worthy of the honour, saying it would go a long way to spur him to continue to render selfless services to the people and the society.
He, however, urged other privileged members of the society, particularly the rich to take interest in the wellbeing and welfare of the poor in order to make the world a better place for all.
Speaking in an interview, leader of the coalition, Comrade Bob Achor applauded the monarch for his development initiatives which he said informed his choice for the award, stressing that the traditional ruler has through his activities and goodwill impacted positively on the lives of his people and the society, describing him as proficient, reliable and dependable in all ramifications.
According to him, the traditional ruler had built enviable infrastructures as well as executed projects that positively touch the lives of the people.
For this reason, he said the award bestowed upon the King was never misplaced.
He, however, urged the monarch to continue to be a shining light on his people and the generality of mankind, by virtue of the selfless and humanitarian services he has been rendering to the society.
