Foremost Ogoni Politician and former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Friday Nkeeh has called on the Rivers State Government to evacuate defecting lawmakers from the Rivers State House of Assembly quarters as they were illegal occupants of the quarters following the invalidation of their seats by the law.
Nkeeh, who spoke with news in government house Port Harcourt on the sideline of the signing of the 2024 appropriation budget by the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, yesterday said the continuous residency of the dissident lawmakers is a gross violation of the law and constitutes nuisance to the state.
Nkeeh, who was also a former commissioner for Sports and Caretaker Committee Chairman of Khana Local Government, decried the level malgovernance in Rivers State for the past eight years.
He called on all stakeholders in the state to support the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara to bring a new era of peace, unity and development in the state.
“The Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara is a listening Governor, he needs the support of all Rivers people to succeed, he’s shown that he’s ready to work for Rivers people, we do not care the storm he’s passing through.”
“God has created the circumstances that has liberated Rivers people and given governance to a man that has the fear of God and love Rivers people”, he said.
Nkeeh also pointed out that the signing of the 2024 appropriation bill was a bold step towards heralding the dividends of democracy in the state by the Governor Fubara-led administration.
