Akpabio Announces Committees, Rejigs Committees Leadership … Names Natasha, Ibrahim, Others As Committees’ Chairmen

Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, at yesterday’s plenary announced more committees of the Senate even as he reassigned some new and old Senators to new committees.
In the new development, the President of the Senate named Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP Kogi Central), the Chairman, Senate Committee on Local Content as well as the Vice Chairman of Committee on Steel.
Akpabio also appointed Senator Jimoh Ibrahim (Ondo South) as the chairman of the Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Affairs and 13 other Senators as Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of different committees.
They include Committee on Steel – Patrick Ndubueze (Chairman), Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Vice-chairman); Tourism – Shuaibu Isa Lau, ( Chairman ) IretiKingigbe (Vice-Chairman),
Committee on State and Local Government Affairs – BinosYaroe (Chairman), Francis Fadahunsi (Vice Chairman); National Atomic and Nuclear Energy – Sahabi Alhaji Yau (Chairman), Mustapha Khalid Ibrahim (Vice Chairman).
Also appointed are: Youth and Community Engagement – Yemi Adaramodu (Chairman);
Sport Development – KawuSumaila (Chairman), Ned Nwoko (Vice Chairman).
Niger Delta Affairs – has BabajideIpinsagba as Chairman and Rev. Amos Kumai Yohanna as the Vice Chairman.
The Committee on Art, Culture and Creative Economy has OnawoOgoshi as the chairman and OkechukwuEzea as Vice Chairman.
Senator Joel Onowakpo is now the Vice Chairman of the Defence Committee.
The Solid Minerals Development Committee has Senator Sampson Ekong as Chairman while OsitaNgwu is the Vice Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
Senator Ifeanyi Uba chairs the Committee on Petroleum Downstream , while BabajideIpinsagba is the Vice Chairman.
Senator Sunday Katung is the new Vice Chairman of the Establishment and Public Services Committee while Victor Umeh is the Vice Chairman of the Committee on Housing.
