Sylva Mocks Diri, Says Bayelsa Governor Afraid Of Losing
Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the November 11, 2023 gubernatorial election in Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva, has said the state governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Douye Diri, was deploying gimmicks out of fear of losing the election.
Sylva stated this in Aghoro, Peretorugbene and Toru-Ndoro communities of Ekeremor council area during his campaign tour to the area.
He urged the people of the area not to lose hope but rather get their PVCs to vote for his candidacy so as to salvage them from the manipulations of the incumbent governor.
“A vote for me and my deputy governorship candidate is a vote for progress. Aghoro, Peretorugbene and Toru-Ndoro communities, you know what is good for you, the combination of myself and MacIver is what is good for you. So on November 11, 2023, which is a month from now, make sure you vote for myself and MacIver.
“ Some people are afraid of the election, they are panicking so they went and procured some ‘Jankara’ judgement. We want to assure you that judgement will not stand, because it is against natural justice. Just carry on, do not worry at all.
“ On the 11th of November, make sure you go to the polls and vote for us and I want to assure you that your lives will never remain the same again,” Sylva said.
“It’s our pledge to change the developmental narrative of the people of these area. A vote for the APC is a vote for progress.
“If elected, we’ll ensure that the health and other moribund facilities in this area are operational. We’ll provide electricity and water and we’ll complete the Ekeremor -Agge road to improve the living standard of the people”, he added.
On his part, King Timi Odikeme Okere, Amanaowei of Peretoru Kingdom commended Sylva for his landmark achievements to the people of Peretoru, testifying that the community benefitted enormously when he was a governor.
