RSG Begins Another Round Of Polio Vaccination
Starting from this weekend, the Rivers State Primary Health Board will begin a three-day state wide polio vaccination for children under five years.
The exercise is part of the National Immunization Plus Days administration for administration of oral polio vaccine.
The board in a statement said the exercise which will start on 16th to 19th of September will be available in government hospitals, health centers as well as schools, markets, churches and mosques.
It therefore urged parents to make their children who are below five years available, as that will help protect them from the deadly polio virus.
The polio vaccine it further assured is safe and easy to give through oral administration.
Urging parents on the need to ensure their children take the vaccine, the board warned that children who are not vaccinated may contact polio virus through water and food.
The virus which is contagious causes paralysis in children, and in severe cases can lead to death.
