Rotary, NESREA Sensitise Markets, Schools

Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Phoenix, has commenced its campaign for sensitising market women and schools around Elekahia area.
The campaign is in collaboration with Rivers State office of the National Environmental Standards And Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA).
The President of Rotary Port Harcourt Phoenix, Tobi Odeyemi said the programme forms part of the Rotary’s vision for health and community sanitation.
Market women were urged to clean their stalls and shops.
She warned that when drainages are blocked they lead to flood and mosquitoes breed in such an environment.
The club distributed some bin baskets to them.
Odeyemi reminded students of the need to cultivate the habit of personal hygienic, and cleaning both their homes and the school environment.
Officials of NESREA gave talks and education materials to the participants.
