Deko Becomes Gokana Football Council Grand Patron

The Gokana Football Council yesterday appointed the Executive Chairman of Gokana Local Government Council, Hon Confidence Nyima Deko, as Grand Patron during a visit to his office at the Gokona Local Government Council.
The Football Council said that the appointment of the Chairman as  Grand Patron of the Gokana Football Council was in recognition of his relentless support to the development of sports in Gokana and the enthronement of peace amongst other towering achievements of his administration.
The Gokana Football Council which was led by the Chairman, Mr. Martins Giadom and Secretary, Dr. Legborsi Emmanuel , said the visit was aimed at seeking working synergy with the Local Government in the effort to enhance development through sports, especially football.
Giadom in his address, commended Hon. Deko, DSSRS, for the support and attention his administration has accorded sports and the development of football in Gokana and charged him to continue with the pace which has earned him accolades.
He said that the Football Council in Gokana was pleased with the developmental strides of Hon. Deko’s administration as the Executive Chairman of Gokana, which informed their visit to him and his appointment as Grand Patron to the Football Council.
Mr. Giadom concluded by seeking partnership in the forthcoming Chairman’s Cup billed to hold in December and sponsorship of female football development in Gokana which is to commence in October.
In his remarks, Hon. Dekor thanked the Football Council for the special visit which he said was timely and accepted the appointment as the Grand Patron of the Council.
