CAFCC : ‘Rivers United Not Under Pressure’
Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt defender, Paul Odey has said that the team are not under pressure in their second leg game of the CAF Confederation cup (CAFCC), second preliminary round against Etoile Filante de Quagadougou of Burkina Faso this weekend.
According to him they are training very hard because they know the importance of the game, adding that what he saw in camp has encouraged him more that they are going to win the game.
Odey said this yesterday in an interview with the team media office shortly after a training session at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt made available to Tidesports.
He explained that the plan was to win the first leg away from home but getting a draw was not a disappointment. He added that coming back home, they are going to ensure they get the result.
“ We are training very hard because we know the importance of the game.
“ I am encouraged with the spirit of my teammates in the camp.
“We are not under any pressure, we know the task award so absolutely are prepared very well for the game.
“ Our plan in the first leg was to win but we got draw, so it was not a bad result, coming back home ,we are going to work extra hard to win.
“ So I just want to call on fans and our supporters to come and encourage us because we are going to make them proud” Odey said.
Also speaking, goalkeeper Sochima Victor said they were on high spirits waiting for the game.
“ It was a different ball game over there and now is going to be another different ball game but I am assuring Rivers people that we are going to get victory in the game” Victor said.
The pride of Rivers as they are popularly called will take on Etoile Filante de Quagadougou of Burkina Faso this Sunday at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
