CAFCC: Eguma Calls On Fans To Support Team To Victory

The Technical Manager of Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt, Stanley Eguma has called on his team supporters and fans to come out en mass to cheer the team to victory against Etoile Filante de Quagadougou of Burkina Faso in the CAF Confederation Cup this weekend.
According to him, he would be expecting fans to come in numbers and watch the game because he is building a new team which would put up a good show for fans to enjoy good football.
Eguma made the call on Sunday in a chat with the team media office after playing out a goalless draw against Etoile Filante de Quagadougou of Burkina Faso in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup at Ivory coast.
He said that they created a lot of chances but were unable to convert them, adding that coming home to play would be a different ball game.
“ I am expecting our fans to come out in their numbers to cheer the team up.
“Etoile Filante de Quagadougou is a good team, I gave them kudos because there is hope for future.
“ We are not going to relax because of home advantage.
“ We have to try and ensure we get early goal.
“ We were not 100 percent good playing away from home but at home, we are going to prove ourselves” Eguma said.
The Technical Manager explained that there were still work to be done on the team on their tactical play, adding that before the game they will come out better.
“ They are still work in progress.
“ It’s going to be a different ball game here at home.
“It is a new team, we just started our campaign, I hope that we would put up a good efforts and our fans will enjoy good football” he stated.
