Rivers Police Kill Two Kidnappers, Rescue Five Victims

The Rivers State Police Command says its operatives have neutralised two suspected kidnappers and rescued eight victims during a combat operations in the state last week.
Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Nwonyi Emeka made the disclosure during a press briefing held at the Police headquarters in Port Harcourt ,Monday and added that the Command last Wednesday received information that two men were seen at Buguma river with suspected kidnap victim.
He disclosed that the operatives mobilised to the scene and the hoodlums on sighting the Police took to their heels, while the two victims were rescued.
The State Commissioner of Police also disclosed that police operatives on August 15,2023 acting on intelligence information arrested one Future Wokoma and Gift Eze of Ahoada East Local Government Area who specialised in robbing innocent citizens within the East/West road axis and explained that when they were searched, one pump action gun was recovered from the suspects who claimed to be foot soldiers of ‘General Danger’ and ‘Chiefo’ in the area.
According to the commissioner, on August 18, 2023 operatives of Rapid Response Team and Hawk Team of the command in a joint raid at Agbonchia/Oyigbo forest rescued a kidnapped victim who was kidnapped at Rumuagholu on 17th, August,2023 ,while the suspects took to their heels after intensive battle with the police.
“Still on our achievements ,on Saturday, August 19,2023 , Rumuji Police Division received information from Nnamdi, a driver of a transport company in Lagos State that some hoodlums abducted five passengers at Rumudogo junction of Emohua section of East West road ,the DPO led his team mobilized to the scene and combed the bush around and rescued the five victims unhurt”.
“On 18th August 2023 rescued one victim kidnapped at Rumukwashi in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area kidnapped by four armed men.
Upon receiving the information, Police patrol mobilised with members of local vigilantes and arrested one Oduenze, where two suspects were neutralised, one Toyota Corolla recovered and the victim rescued,” he stated.
