IAUE Vows To Improve Sanitary Conditions Of Varsity

The Acting Vice Chancellor of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Prof Okechuku Onuchuku, has said that his determination to give the institution a permanent face-lift environmental-wise will not go dim or slide.
Onuchuku said this while addressing newsmen who paid a courtesy call on him in the school premises last week in Rumuolumeni , Port Harcourt.
He noted that the school’s sanitary system was not up- to -date upon his arrival as the acting Vice Chancellor.
The academia, explained that such situations forced most students out of the hostel then, and added that the narrative has since improved for the best.
According to him, before his arrival, the school, especially the main campus had a very poor convenience system that no one will pray even an enemy to visit such area.
Recently, he noted, the school now has a world class convenience system that attracts students to jostle for hostel space.
“Before we came on board, the toilet system was nothing to write home about. The day I visited one of the hotels, it was not easy, I ran back. But today, it is a different story”, he said.
To further improve on the environment, he said the school also has the best water factory that supplies water to all quarters with ease.
Onuchuku who recalled the poor sight of the Ndele Campus , revealed that it now wears a first class face and habitable.
He further revealed that the cleanliness of the environment has forced snakes and other reptiles out of the school environment.
Another environmental friendly approach he adopted, according to him, was the construction of open kitchen for the students to avoid explosion and other environmental hazards.
The Tide source learnt that Ignatius Ajuru University is one of the most beautiful environments in the State.
