We’re Committed To Mentorship -Sheidu-Shabi

The chairperson, Women in Logistics and Transport, Pharm. Khadija Sheidu-Shabi, has reaffirmed her commitment to the development and mentorship of Nigerian women in logistics and transport, even as her organisation reposition to rule the world of women entrepreneurs in Africa and beyond.
Sheidu-Shabi disclosed this last Thursday at the 11th WILAT DAY Conference held at Oriental, lagos.
According to her, “WILAT conference was a unique opportunity for stock taken, a time to project into future and a time to aspire for realisation of a common resolve which represent the cultural disposition of women in various discipline”.
She said, the fact that WILAT has been celebrated for over 11 years with a monumental degree of acceptability and popularity is a testament to the uniqueness of the tradition from which it stems and the people believed it.
Also, the guest speaker of the occassion, Chief (Mrs.) Chinwe Ezenwa charged the women to be up and doing.
According to her, the theme of this year’s WILAT conference: Women Entrepreneurs In A Dynamic Environment”, is timely and apt, especially given pivotal role of the private sector driving the engine of the nation’s economic development.
Ezenwa noted that the conference, like others, is meant to promote investment, encourage innovation, mentorship and to compare notes with researchers.
Ezenwa, who is the chief Executive officer, Lelook Nigeria Ltd, said the aim of the conference is to empower women in logistics and transport, preparing women against retirement, shipping, transportation and logistics investment environment by providing insight into the radically changing environment, whether financial and regulatory.
“The challenges in the Nigerian operating environment is to raise key players that influence profitable investment and these include financiers, owners, market analysts.
