Dominion Stars Football Academy has emerged champions of this year’s Port Harcourt City U-15 Youth League Football Competition as they defeated De Kings Intl. Football Academy 5-4 on penalty shootouts after playing goalless draw at the regulation time.
The final encounter which was largely attended by youths in Rivers State witnessed quality  football artistry displayed by both teams that was held at the Sharks Football Club Stadium on Sunday in Port Harcourt.
Speaking shortly after the match in an exclusive interview with Tidesports, the Head Coach of Dominion Stars FA, Samuel Jumbo expressed excitement over the victory, adding that he returns the glory to God Almighty.
According to him, he lost hope when one of his players missed his penalty kick but he believed in the God of Dominion who was speaking to him and he saw the hands of God in the victory.
“I am very excited because my boys (players) gave me joy, when the penalty kicks were going on, they were singing praises despite when we lost one leg of the kicks.
“It was a very good moment for my players because from the beginning of the competition, I told them this is our trophy and from that day, they did not lose focus.
“ I congratulate  De Kings Intl. FA because they put up a very good fight till the end of the game,” Jumbo said.
He commended the organisers of the competition, saying that the tournament was a huge success and urged them to organise more competitions with a view to discovering talents at the grassroots.
“It has been a wonderful time for the youth in the State throughout the tournament as they enjoyed every moment of tournament,” he said.
