Director Urges Parents To Engage Wards In Skills
As the 2022/2023 Academic Calendar ends with schools shutting down in Port Harcourt, parents have been advised to devote time during the long holidays to engage their children with skills acquisition and vocational trainings.
The Director of Famlang International School, Rumuola, Beau Brummel said this during the school’s graduation ceremony last Friday in Port Harcourt.
He stated that it is important for children to start early to learn skills and vocations which will enable them gain specialised skills in future.
A parent, Mrs Ogechi Bari-Ollor said the holiday is a long one as such parents should ensure their children are sent to learn more skills as well continue their learning with private tutors to take them on tutorials.
“Parents should enroll their children into activities that will be best for them to excel in their academic pursuits.
On their parts, parents and teachers pledged the importance of engaging children through skills that will enhance their academic growth.
“The school has done well in grooming the children even in their morals most of them can read well and I am happy with my children performances.”
Our correspondent reports that high light of the event was little Miss Melody Okiridu and Mr. Jesse Ollor emerging as Miss and Mr. Famlang International School, respectively.
On her part, Madam Ngozi Okiridu expressed joy and excitement, saying: “My exceptional daughter has made me proud today having emerged little Miss Famlag. This shows how far she is ready to go in life. I give all the glory to God.”
