Church Ordains Environmentalist, Others

An environmentalist, Mr. Blessing Jackson Tiko, has been ordained as an elder of the Church of Christ, Nigeria.
Tiko who is the deputy operations officer of the Port Harcourt city Local Government Environmental Sanitation Committee was ordained alongside others at the maiden ordination of Elders and deacons by the Obaziolu Street Branch of the church.
Others also ordained during the occasion are Brother Gideon Otoadese Iluman Evang as a Bishop; Brother Sorle Lebabari Nwibe was also ordained as a Bishop and Brother Atankere John Otokwala ordained as a Deacon The rest are Brother Godgift Emue Jacob as Deacon; Brother Bassey Edet George as Deacon, Ukeme Monday Brown as Deacon, Brother Chukwuka Nwite as Deacon and Brother Douglas Eyefia was also ordained as a Deacon of the church.
Speaking during the service, Secretary of the ordination Committee, Bro. Chinah Kinikanwo said the committee is proud of Bro Tiko whose activities have brought cleanliness and sanity to the streets of Port Harcourt and its environs.
He stressed the need for others to emulate the good character of the deputy operations Port Harcourt city environmental sanitation committee .
Kinikanwo also attributed the success of the ordination ceremony to God’s tremendous blessings .
In his words, ‘fortunately, today, we are living witnesses to Gods tremendous grace and blessing that has led us this far, and to him alone be all the glory.
“.We wish to encourage other sister congregations to strive to set inorder the things that are lacking.
“It is not an impossible task, just as it can not be done by a mere wish or flip of hand.’
He used the occasion to call on church leaders to ensure discipline among members.
Also speaking the Environmentalist Bro. Jackson Tiko thanked the church for the honour done to him.
He pledged to work towards promoting cleanliness in the city and praised the mayor of Port Harcourt Allwell Ihunda for his leadership qualities.
