Opobos In Diaspora Salute Fubara, Seek Quality Governance
A frontline socio-cultural organisation in Rivers State, the Opobo Progressive Association (OPA), Ndoki Chapter has commended the election and successful inauguration of Governor Siminialayi Fubara; his Deputy, Prof. (Mrs) Ngozi Odu and other elected representatives, describing their emergence as “God ordained.”
In a statement released at the end of its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Okoloma – Afam, Oyigbo Local Government Area of the State meeting, the group thanked God and commended former Governor Nyesom Wike and all stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State for giving the baton of leadership of the state to credible personalities like Sir Siminilayi Fubara and Mrs Ngozi Odu.
Signed by its President, Engr. Solomon Diri; Secretary, Mrs Dagogo Jaja and Public Relations Officer, Diepirinye Brown, the statement admonished aggrieved opposition candidates and Rivers people in general to shun bickering, hate speeches and name calling and join forces instead with the Fubara led administration to build a better, more prosperous and united Rivers State.
The group, in the statement, further called on Governor Siminialayi Fubara to carefully select a team of seasoned technocrats, professionals and administrators that will put the right things in the right places, and at the right time in order to achieve new heights of development for Rivers people.
Describing the governor as, “a leadership pacesetter and Joseph of the 21st century Rivers State”, the group assured the him of their readiness to partner with his administration to deliver quality leadership and dividends of democracy to the people while asking for the mainstreaming of the organisation (OPA) into the developmental efforts of his government.
