As the administration of Governor Nyesom Wike gradually winds down, the Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Chris Finebone says the administration is leaving huge legacies behind.
Finebone who stated this during a chat with The Tide yesterday, added that the Wike administration would not relent in delivering democratic dividends till its last day in office.
He noted that one unique legacy of Wike’s administration is in provision of quality and unprecedented infrastructure in the state.
Finebone said, “ Wike is doing something remarkable. He is ending stronger than he started. Remember there were lots of distractions when he started.”
The commissioner recalled that the governor was able to weather the storm from the beginning of his administration in 2015, and today has been able to leave footprints almost in all sectors.
“You might ask why did he not start flyovers in his first tenure yet you forget that most part of the first tenure was spent in stabilizing and even at that, he did lots of projects”, Finebone noted.
Beside legacy projects, the commissioner stated that the administration would also hand over officially to the incoming administration unlike the previous administration.
“Already, the handover is at advanced stage, every department of government is working towards that, and that will be to our credit. Remember Wike inherited an administration that did not hand over. That is a plus for the governor”, Finebone said.
He assured that the administration would keep working till the handover on May 29, adding that “one unique thing is that even on the day of handover, projects will be commissioned and new ones inaugurated”.he commissioner added that the incoming administration would be challenged to do more since government is a continuum.
