UBE Board Chairman Advises Students On Sports

Chairman of Universal Basic Education ( UBE) Board in Rivers State, Ven. Fyneface Akah, has urge pupils and students in Nigeria, particularly in the State to be involve, in sports and compete actively in competitions.
According to him, competition is one of the ways to make every human being improve in any place he or she find its self, but advised to use it negatively.
Ven. Akah said this at UBE School Sports Festival, held at Rumumeme Girls Model Secondary School, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State, on Wednesday.
The Board Chairman who was represented by the Commissioner in charge of technical in UBE board, Chief Faith Amaso, further explained that competition has postive and negative but it is always good to use the positive side of it.
“ Competition is very good when you compete you improve. Don’t apply competition negatively because it destorys.
“ When you see somebody doing better than you, what you do is to find out what is motivating him or her and immediately you  got the answer apply it, don’t try to undo them. Some of us practice bad things of life that is why we cannot improve or progress.
He noted that sports brings peace, love and unity in a society because when the children are happy, parents are happy, when parents are the nation is happy.
“ I am happy today because State is doing well in sports. I know almost all the tribes in  Nigeria are here competing for their various schools. I wish you all the best as you compete”, Ven. Akah said.
Speaking the Desk Officer in charge of the board , Alabo Fubara , expressed joy over the successful school sports festival.
He used the forum to thank all those that contributed to make the festival a success, especially the Chairman of the Board Ven. Fyneface Akah, management staff of the board, officials and game Masters and Mistresses.
