Rivers FA Eulogises Late Woke
The acting Chairman of Rivers State Football Association (RSFA), Ibigoni Benjamin Akobo has described late Kingsley Woke who was the secretary of the association as a trustworthy and transparent person.
He stated that late Woke demonstrated high level of transparency and honesty, saying that such characters are what was needed in football administration.
Akobo said this on Saturday shortly after they committed the remains of the former State secretary of RSFA to mother earth in his own town Ogbum nu- abali , in Port Harcourt Local Government Area.
According to him, the greatest challenge in football administration was trust and transparency, adding that those qualities have been displayed by Woke
“ I don’t believe in making ceremonies about the death. I wish he was alive to hear these qualities he possessed.
“ Me haven been a secretary for 14 years I was tactically studying him wether he will exhibit those qualities. But he convinced me that is why I had confidence in him. I had peace of mind, hence I refer people to him. I tell them go and meet the secretary he can handle it.
For us in RSFA we have lost a person who is trying to wear the big shoe, but he has not finished lasing it and he passed on. Honestly I must say it was a serious concern, but we will try and close the vacuum even though the person may not be 100 percent good”,. Akobo said.
The acting RSFA Chairman used the forum to console the family and pray God to give them fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
