Inter-House Sports: Blue House Emerges Winner In Silver Palm School

Silver Palm School, Elele in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, held its this year’s Annual Inter House School Competition, on Saturday, at Elele Primary School field.
The competition which was attended by huge crowd saw Blue House emerged overall winner, while Green and Red Houses came second and third respectively.
Speaking at the occasion the Manager  of  the School, Fred Chinonye  urged Governments at all levels to formulate policies with the view to reposition sports in Nigeria.
He stated that most times the youths were ready  and prepared to do sports but there will be no facilities and enabling environment.
Chinonye said these at this year’s annual School Inter House Sports Competitions, held at the school field in Elele, on Saturday, saying that his school does not compromised sports in its curriculum.
Acccording to him, it is time for  Governments at different levels take development of sports seriously, adding sports has become lucrative business for the youths.
“It is time for Government to realise that youths are now eager to do sports, as such providing sporting facilities and enabling environment should become paramount.
“We are aware that engaging youths through sports will reduce social  vices in our country”, He said.
He used the forum to commend pupils of Silver Palm School for their impressive performance during the competition and further advised them to take sports as a career.
