Correct Administrative Map Of Rivers, Banigo Tasks NBC

Rivers State Deputy Governor and Senator-Elect of Rivers West Senatorial District, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, has urged the National Boundary Commission to correct the 10th, 11th and 12th Administrative Map of Rivers State which erroneously brought the boundary between Rivers and Bayelsa states from Santa Barbara to St Bartholomeo River.
Banigo stated this during an advocacy visit by the National Boundary Commission at the Government House in Port Harcourt, yesterday.
Banigo, who is the chairman of the Rivers State Boundary Commission, said the advocacy visit of the National Boundary Commission to the state was based on issues relating to the determination of Coast Line Communities along the Gulf of Guinea for the Operationalization of the Littoral Host Communities Development Trust (HOT).
She added that the Director General of the National Boundary Commission had earlier written a letter to visit the state, which Wike approved.
In his address, the Director General of the National Boundary Commission, who spoke through the Director Maritime Boundary in the commission, Nurudeen Abba, said the commission intends to make further progress on the resolution process on the interstate boundaries of Rivers and its neighbours, and solicited the support and cooperation towards resuscitating actions on the various boundaries of the state.
