Pastor John Olanrewaju of Christ the King Church, Ilorin, on Saturday in Ilorin, urged Nigerians to stop uttering divisive statements and prioritise the country’s unity.
Olanrewaju, who was speaking with The Tide source, said “Nigeria’s unity is non-negotiable”, noting that many prominent Nigerians and leaders were not mindful of their utterances.
“Enough of negative pronunciation against the country’s unity. We need to caution ourselves and be positive in our manners.
“Stop calling for war. Nigeria’s unity should be the main priority of all citizens.
“I am calling on stakeholders, religious leaders,  journalists, traditional rulers and the public to refrain from uttering divisive statements and preach unity across the country”, he said.
Olanrewaju urged Nigerians to look beyond religious and ethnic differences and show love for one another.
