Transcorp Targets 25% Share In Power Generation
Transcorp Power, a subsidiary of of Transcorp Nigeria Limited, says its target is ti have 25 percent share of the nations power generating sector.
Managing Director and Chief Executive of Transcorp, Dr. Oven Omogiafor, who made the plans public while unveiling a multi-million generating cleaning plant (GT 20, GT17) at Afam Okoloma in Rivers State, said over 230 megawatts of power has been injected into the national grid since acquiring the plant in March 2021.
The Transcorp Managaging Director said the vision is to raise power such that it will be the leader in power generation.
Part of the improvement done since acquiring the Adam power plant, she further disclosed, is to raise both hydro and gas plants, as funds has been injected into the project.
On the new GT 20 plant in Adam, she explained that the cleaning plant has helped build capacity, improve local contents, knowledge and improve capacity to foster collaboration across the industry.
The same view was expressed by Managing Director of Transposed Adam Station, Vincent Chukwudi Ozoude, who said the installation of the GT 20 have helped the firm to save funds, improve local capacity, and boost power generation.
Ozoude said, “when we took over, the plant was at 48MW and just one year and nine months we have grown to 188 MW out 966 MW capacity.”
