Police Nab Three Suspected Kidnappers, Three Cultists …Rescue Male Victim In Rivers
The Rivers State Police Command has said that its operatives have arrested three suspected kidnappers who allegedly abducted a male victim at Obelle community in Emohua Local Government Area of the state as well as arrested of three other cultists in a different sting operation in the state.
The spokesperson of the command in the state, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, disclosed these in two separate press releases, she personally signed and made available to newsmen in Port Harcourt, last Wednesday.
The statements read: “On Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at about 0800hrs, based on credible intelligence that on Monday, January 9, 2023, at about 2030hrs, there were strange movements at Obelle community in Emohua LGA of Rivers State.
“The Rmumji Police Division mobilised patrol teams, and raided the uncompleted building that was being used as a criminal hideout.
“Martin Nze’M,’ 37yrs of Awka, Anambra State, was rescued, and his car, a Toyota Corolla with the registration number GG 138 FY, was recovered and taken to the station.
“Three of the abductors: Vincent Sunday ‘M’, aged 25yrs from Rumuji, Ekene Michael ‘M’, aged 29yrs from Eliozu, and Mohammed Oluwasegun ‘M’, aged 20yrs from Ondo State; were arrested.
“One single barrel Dane gun was recovered from them. They will be charged in court once the investigations are completed.
“The command wishes to reaffirm its commitment to reducing crime and criminality in all its forms to the barest minimum. While painstaking effort is being deployed to ensure the above, members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police at the following emergency numbers: 08039213071, 08098880134.”
In another related development, the state police command also arrested three cultists.
According to the statement: “On Monday, January 9, 2023, at about 0343hrs, on a tip-off at Gure community, Khana LGA of Rivers State, operatives of the Anti-Cultism Unit (ACU),Bori Annex, arrested the following: Kensuanu Loveday Dick ‘M’ a.k.a. ‘Aaro’, the Executioner of the Iceland Cult group, Myimaka Olu ‘M’, and one Junior Mbo ‘M’ of Bean community, who has been terrorising the area.
“During the search on Junior Mbo, one locally-made pistol was discovered.
“They will be charged in court once the investigations are completed.
“The command wishes to reaffirm its commitment to reducing crime and criminality in all its forms to the barest minimum. Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police”, the statement added.
