Khana FC Wins Ogoni Nations Cup Competition

Khana FC of Khana Local Government Area, Rivers State has emerged Champions of the maiden edition of  Ogoni Nations Cup Competition after they defeated Kenwigbara 5-4 on penalty shootout after playing one all draw in regulation time.
The match was played at Bena Primary School football field on Saturday with huge crowd in attendance. People from all works of life witnessed the final match.
Speaking with Tidesports shortly after the game, the Technical Manager of Khana FC Sam Ledor expressed joy as  they won maiden  the edition of the tournament.
According to him, as a coach he was very excited because winning a  tournament of such magnitude will be a plus to his career, adding that experience acquired would be replicated in other competitions.
“ I feel very happy that we won the first edition of this tournament, if I am not mistaken this is one of the major tournaments in Ogoniland.
“Besides, I see everybody here looking  excited, the sponsor, management,  technical crew, players and fans were all happy.
“ It has added a plus to my career and I will take the experience gained to other competitions,” Ledor stated.
He narrated that the competition was tough at the beginning for his team even  though he was optimistic that he will emerge the winner.
“The beginning of this competition was a tough one for us. My team was comprised with players from all parts of  Ogoni land even at that it was not easy. We thank God we were able to win the competition.
“ I did not give up even a s were  one goal down. During my playing days I  always believed in  one thing, that it is not over until it is over.
“ So I was optimistic that we are going to overturned the one goal” he stated.
He praised the performance of the Kenwigbara FC in the competition saying that they are a very good side.
