The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, has in his tradition of putting smiles on peoples’ faces, reached out to thousands of the elderly and widows in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, through SWITCH-ON Outreach, a non-governmental organisation envisioned by him.
Fubara, whose tradition has always been to care for the elderly and widows in the spirit of the season, feted the aged, saying it has been a thing of joy to always remember them, whether in festive or non-festive times.
Represented by the organisation’s leader, Mrs. Sotonye Toby Fulton, the gubernatorial candidate inspired the beneficiaries with the Christmas and New Year message by encouraging them to be hopeful for a better tomorrow.
They were further enjoined to be fully armed with their PVCs in preparation for the forthcoming elections by voting for the PDP, especially the March 11 governorship polls, to enable him build on the unparalleled legacy of the Governor of the state, Chief Nyesom Wike.
The elders and widows in their numbers declared and endorsed the PDP governorship candidate, praying for his landslide victory at the March 11 governorship election.
They further commended Wike and the party for the honour done to the riverine, Ijaw nation and Rivers South East Senatorial District as a whole by supporting their son, Sir Siminialayi Fubara to emerge as the candidate of the ruling PDP in the state.
