DPO Assures On Better Surveillance
The Elimgbu Divisional Police Officer, CSP Doyo Mark, has assured on adequate security within the recently commissioned Rumukwurusi flyover by Governor Nyesom Wike.
CSP Doyo said the police would deploy necessary tools to ensure free flow of traffic and ensure no one vandalised any part of the fly over.
He said the commissioning of the project would assist the police to carry out its constitutional duty of protecting lives and property.
CSP Doyo also renewed his call for synergy and collaboration with the host communities and added that policing could not be effective without necessary input and support of the citizenry.
He warned criminals to stay out of Elimgbu and its neighbourhood, especially during and after the yuletide.
In a related development, the area commander, Rivers State Hunters has commended the Federal House of Representative for the speedy passage of the Nigeria Hunters, Forest and Security services
The Area Commander, Chief Wegwu Willy, who made the commendation while addressing newsmen, said the essence cannot be overemphasised following security threats in the land
Chief Wegwu, however, appealed to President Mohammed Buhari to sign the bill as a Christmas gift to Nigerians.
Wegwu noted that the Rivers State hunters received the news with nolstagia and assured of working with sister agencies to make the forest hot for the criminals.
He said although the group had already done the needful by serving the State Governor, DSS and other security agencies
He noted that the hunters would flush out criminals who used forest as a hideout.
