Ogoni Stakeholders Applaud CCECC Over Delivery Of Bori-Kono Road

Stakeholders in Ogoni have expressed satisfaction over the prompt delivery of the dualised Bori-Kono Road commissioned by the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, last Friday.
Some Ogoni stakeholders, who spoke with The Tide during the commissioning of the project, commended the company that handled the project, CCEC, for delivering a quality work within specified timeframe.
A prominent royal father in the area, Gbenemene Ken-Khana, Mene Barile Deebom, said the people were happy with the quality of work done by CCECC, which has transformed the landscape and enhanced the economic well-being of the of people.
Deebom, who is the paramount ruler of Kewiigbara, lauded the Rivers State governorfor executing the strategic road project.
The Chairman of Khana Local Government Council, Dr Bariere Thomas, also commended the company for the quality and timeliness of delivery of Bori-Kono road project.
Describing the road construction as a “legacy project”, the chairman said Ogoni people would remain grateful to the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, for embarking on the project.
President of Rivers Youth Federation, Khana Chapter, Comrade Neemene Kpugisi, who also spoke with The Tide during the commissioning, said the company that handled the road project had demonstrated commitment to ensure speedy delivery for the benefit of the people.
He said the road would open up Ogoni to thriving economic activities, and thanked Wike for the project.
Some women, who spoke in a random interview, expressed their heart-felt gratitude to the Rivers State governor for delivering the road project.
They said the road, before its reconstruction, was a narrow, dilapidated road that constituted grave difficulties to the daily activities of the people.
Earlier, the General Manager of CCECC Nigeria Limited, Eric Shen, had in his address during the commissioning ceremony, thanked the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, for giving the company the opportunity to construct the road.
The general manager, who thanked the people of Khana, and Ogoni in general, for their support during the road construction, said the company did the job according to the specifications of the Ministry of Works.
He said the company would continue to demonstrate “steadfastness and commitment in every project entrusted to us to execute in delivery of critical infrastructure that will drive the socio-economic development of the state”.
