Ariolu Lauds George-Kelly For Contributions To Public Service, Humanity
The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Barrister George Ariolu, has commended the Rivers State Commissioner for Works, Dr. Dakorinam Alabo George-Kelly, for his contributions towards enhancing growth and development in public service and humanity.
He gave the commendation at the grand civic reception in honour of the former special adviser to governor on special projects by chiefs and elders of Abalama Community in Buguma City, Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Speaking at the Abalama School Field in Buguma, Ariolu described George-Kelly as an exceptional leader who had deployed his knowledge and experience in construction to the growth and development of the state, serving in various capacities under the administration of Governor Nyesom Wike.
He further described George-Kelly as an encyclopaedia of knowledge who has not only benefited the Kalabari nation but the entire Rivers State.
He said the civic reception was a testament of the governor’s exceptional leadership qualities and development strides towards the advancement of good governance in the state.
Ariolu said the commissioner was a dogged member of the Rivers State Executive Council, who had exhibited outstanding prowess in executing legacy projects arising from the deep thoughts and analysis of the needs of the people.
According to the council boss, his trajectory in the Rivers State Executive Council did not come as a surprise, given his passion for service, sense of patriotism and the capacity he displayed while serving as president of National Union of Rivers State Students (NURSS) and aide to the then secretary to the state government in charge of Legionnaire and Students’ Affairs.
The chairman equally lauded the commissioner’s humanitarian efforts and immense contributions to the growth of the people through the Opu-Alabo Foundation, which has improved the welfare of Rivers citizens.
Accordingly, Ariolu applauded George-Kelly for the award conferred on him by chiefs and elders of Abalama Community, commending him for his loyalty, patience and perseverance.
Ariolu further urged him to see the award as a call to do more in the service to his fatherland and humanity.
Similarly, the chairman appreciated Governor Wike for finding the commissioner worthy to serve under his administration, noting that the award was a morale booster for him to strengthen his efforts in service delivery.
