2023: ‘Rivers South-East Not Opposed To Fubara’s Guber Ambition’
A frontline politician in Rivers State and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senibo Chris Ogbonna Fubara, has described as untrue the impression that Rivers South East Senatorial District, was against the governorship ambition of Sir Siminialayi Fubara ahead of the 2023 general election in the state.
The Rivers South East Senatorial District comprises Khana, Gokana, Tai, Eleme, Andoni, Opobo/ Nkoro, and Oyigbo local government areas of the state.
Speaking with journalists recently in Port Harcourt on the governorship candidate’s ambition and hope of Rivers South East Senatorial District, Fubara argued that the people of the district were rather pushing for equity and sense of belonging in the political space and the allocation of the commonwealth of the state and country.
He used the opportunity to assure of 100percent votes for Fubara, his running mate, Prof Ngozi Ordu, and other PDP candidates from the district.
He also appreciated Governor Nyesom Wike for the numerous development projects cited in all the books and crannies of the district within the past seven years of this dispensation, stressing that credit must be given to the brain behind the massive infrastructure revolution across the state.
He said, “I am impressed, particularly by the speed at which the projects were completed within seven years of Governor Nyesom Wike’s leadership in the state and delivered to the people of Rivers South East Senatorial District. What the opposition parties could not do for seven years running, the Wike-led administration has done it in seven years in all sectors”.
The PDP henchman in Opobo/Nkoro Ward 5 also called on the governorship flag bearer of the PDP to remember to consolidate on the good legacy of Governor Nyesom Wike in the past seven years, adding that Wike has done better and written his name on gold.
He described the district as very progressive-minded, adding that maintaining that posture while ensuring equality and fairness would guide the state and country on the path of glory.
“What we are saying is that the composition of government and agencies of such government should be carried out in such a manner as to recognise the diversity of the people, and promote a sense of belonging and loyalty among all the people of the state,” he submitted.
